This pin was produced to promote the Willys-Overland company. The car featured on the pin is a Overland Model 80. The Overland Motors Co. was founded by Claude Cox in 1903. In 1908, he got a partner J.N.Willys and the company was renamed Willys-Overland. Trivia: The name Overland would come back when DaimlerChrysler introduced the Overland name for a trim package on the 2003 - present Jeep Grand Cherokee. The badging is a recreation of the Overland nameplate from the early twentieth century. |
