This issues cover
is titled "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition"; Captain William A.
Maguire. At Pearl Harbor this Catholic priest was the Fleet Chaplain who
legend says manned a gun and uttered the now famous words "Praise the
Lord, and Pass the Ammunition." This inspired Frank Loesser to write the
hit song of the same name. The magazine includes an article on the DISNEY song and Donald Duck short "Der Fuehrer's Face". (The short was originally titled "Donald Duck in Nutzi Land" but was changed when the song became a huge hit.) There are 3 drawings from the film, and picture of the sheet music. |
